Rough Week.

Just capped off a rough 7 days with a terrible presentation for Macropolitics.  When will the hurting stop?  

I want to write a paper on the lack of a formalized security institution in East Asia.  My theory, Asia lacks a history of alliances and thus, never developed normative behavior favoring military cooperation.  Secondly, from a rational choice model perspective Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan benefit from the hub and spoke alliance with the United States.  Thus, they achieve the benefits of a formal institution without having to pay the costs.  Through bilateral relations and an "alliance by association," the major democratic powers never needed to codify a formal alliance.  What I need help on is a proper method to approach this question.  I am thinking historical institutionalism, but I need a little more than that.  Any help?

The lil' Robot.

An NYU student sent this lil' robot through the city to see if strangers could guide it to its desired destination.  A pretty cool experiment that may shed some light on social capital, or at the very least good samaritanism.
